Random Comment of the Moment

The other day I got a doorhanger with hooks, you know one of those nifty inventions that hangs over your door and provides helpful hooks. Well, I just wanted to say it is great. I hang belts, headbands, and wristlets on it. It is amazing for when you are in a rush and can't spend several minutes searching your room for what you need. I got it from target, as part of the college dorm section. That section is amazing even if you are not in college, because the organizers and decorations really help to add more to tiny spaces! How do you organize/ decorate your room?

She's So Mean!

I heard this song (She's So Mean by Matchbox Twenty) on the radio a few days ago, and I thought it was great. So, today when I looked up the music video, I was ever so slightly shocked. Not what I imagined!
I still really like the song!
Have you heard this song before, have you previously viewed the video? What do you think?

The song reminds me of the movie, Mean Girls. Love that movie! However, I don't particularly love the second movie, which is cleverly titled Mean Girls 2.

Review: Ulta Mini 5 Piece Brush Set

5 Piece Brush Set from Ulta
This set comes with a blush/ face brush, eyeshadow brush, lip brush, eyeliner brush, and a sponge tip applicator. (Retails for about $2.99)
(I am not sure if this is still available in stores.)
This set is not the best quality, but I do think it is a nifty contraption that would be great for a weekend/ day trip. It folds open and the brushes stand up right, which is an aspect I adore. Also, the set comes with a decent sized mirror.
I also kind of appreciate that it comes with a sponge tip, this is a makeup device that is not widely used; however I think it can be great for inner corner highlights or even eyeshadow. I really do think that this would make a great addition to a purse especially because it is nice to have for the occasional makeup emergencies.

Do you currently own a set like this? What brand is it? Do you like it?

Step Up Revolution- Gofobo

The other day I saw this amazing movie, before it was officially released in theaters.
STEP UP REVOLUTION
Watch the trailer and try not to be amazed.
I saw it for free thanks to this fantastic website called GOFOBO
You simply sign up with the website and type in your area code, then a list of available movies opens up, and if they are open to the public, YOU get to see the movie free of charge before it is available to the general public.
Of course you will have to print out passes and show up early to claim your seat, but that shouldn't be too big of a deal.

Check out this website!

Now for a mini review.
Step Up Revolution was great, I loved it and the doughnut/ cop scene!
The movie begins with a quote about the need to raise your voice in order to be heard.
This theme is played up all throughout the movie and expands to become raising your voice to protest. These incredible actors play characters that dance to prove their point.
Do they win?
Watch the movie and find out for yourself.
It truely is an incredible and inspiring film.

Did you see any of the previous movies?
Are you a huge fan of this series, like me?

Review: Elf Brightening Eye Color

L-R: Day 2 Night; Butternut

After watching emilynoel83 on youtube I decided to try some Elf products. This is the first review out of many to come.

Shimmery Subtle Sensations
Elf cosmetics features products starting at just $1.00, many of their products have very poor ratings because of cheap quality; however some of the items are amazing finds.
These eyeshadows are neither great nor awful, they are what you should expect for just $1.00 each.
I really don't like how shimmery they are. Also the shadow smudges itself and I end up looking like a mess if I try to add it in the crease.
But, the good news is that they make geat eyelid colors, IF you put only a slight amount on your lid. Be very aware that it only takes a tiny amount to add a bunch of sparkle.
I probably will keep buying these, but only one at a time. They are fun to play with but are not a fantastic quality overall.

Review: Victoria's Secret Lip Glosses

L-R: Ms. Mojito; Fruitloose; Tropicool
Pretty as a Picture Pinks!

Pleasant smelling pink glosses that look as amazing on you as they do in their packages.
I adore these shades from Victoria's Secret, they have just the right amount of sparkle which is actually quite difficult to find; but, somehow Victoria's Secret got it just right! I also like the variety the store offers, they have a plethora of lip glosses to compliment every look.

If you are searching for a new lip gloss try one of these.
 My current obsession: Tropicool
I like the name and the bright, but subtle glow it gives my lips!

Ramble of the Day

Yesterday I was inspired by a complete stranger. I had never met this person before, yet he came up to me and my sister and shared his incredible story. This is something I will never forget and it is even more special because that is one of my goals.
I want to inspire a stranger.
So, I was amazed when I was inspired by one. It was an incredible experience and I am clearly still excited.

Young Addiction

When you were a young kid, did you have a favorite game, activity, etc? Maybe it was checkers or playing hide-and-seek. Or maybe it was styling Barbie's hair online, like me. I used to spend hours playing this online game, and today I decided to check it back out. And now I am like. . ."What was I thinking? That game is so lame."
All you do is style Barbie's hair,  after you shampoo and blow dry it. Oh well, at least it provided hours of entertainment when I was younger.

Here's the link in case you want to check it out. http://www.barbie.com/activities/fashion/hair/

Colorful Classics

I really like this outfit because it is more sophisticated than ripped jeans and a t-shirt, but at the same time it is still relaxed. This outfit combines color and classics. Also, the beautiful raspberry color is going to be a huge hit this fall. All together this outfit reminds me of a raspberry mocha fall drink. This outfit is a total success.

I received my bracelet in the mail the other day and I am so excited. I love it and the fact that it was free. So, here is my verfication that this site (sneakpeeq) is legit. (And no I am not being sponsored, I received this item for free because I was a new member and received a new member gift.) If you want a cool gift like mine then check out their website, which constantly updates their free gift.
Also, I am really interested in the website Little Black Bag (http://www.littleblackbag.com/) Have you visited this site? Did you order anything? Do you like the idea of the website?
The idea is creative and I really want to try it out.
Basically, you can take a short style quiz and are matched up to some seriously amazing designer items. (Such as necklaces, rings, bags etc.) Then, once you choose an item you check out and receive some free gifts, that you can trade! You end up receiveng some gorgeous accessories for a fairly cheap price.

Back to School Fashion/Fall Fashion

Don't wander across campus or through the halls without looking fantastic in these latest fashions. I have done my research and added my own fashion taste to present these three hot looks. I recently went on a major shopping haul and I put together some outfits with several of my new pieces. However, not all of the mentioned items are new, in fact I have had the backpack for about a year, (and I forgot where I got it) but denim backpacks are becoming a huge hit now, and I get compliments all of the time. Now, without further ado, I present these three looks. . .
Add some zest to your updated spring look.
Top- Vanity Fair, Shoes- Kohl’s, Headband- Claire’s, Bag- Target, Skirt- Aeropostale

Add some glimmer to the normally drab fall season.
Top- Rue 21, Jeans- Rue 21, Shoes- Seventeen, Nail polish- Orly (Fowl Play), Lip gloss- Victoria’s Secret (Ms. Mojito)

Keep your cool on cold/ rainy days.

Here are two ways to wear jean shorts and black, strappy sandals.

Layer it on!
Layers are still in, style a simple patterned tank over a similarly patterened off-shoulder shirt. Now layer both of those over a solid black t-shirt.

Shoutout to Seventeen Magazine

My favorite magazine is Seventeen. It features makeup trends, fashion styles, and inside scoops of the featured cover person. However; this month I wasn't too impressed with the fashion ideas in the section "Endless Summer." Mainly because page 165 features a headband that is $138 from the website janetran.com, I looked up the website and they are a bit pricy. Still, I do not think it is reasonable to feature a headband that is so expensive. I would only spend that much money on an item if I got regular use out of it. This headband doesn't match many of my outfits; therefore, I would only wear it a few times a month.
In other news, Seventeen featured an article about swag. I really like how they expand beyond makeup and fashion and have relevant life style sections.
"Swag is Dead!"
featured in Seventeen magazine
Do you think the term "swag" is no longer relevant? Personally I am tired of hearing this word being thrown around, also I am over "yolo." You only live once, seems like a crazy excuse to act in a crazy manner. Besides, that term got its fair share of profit, I have seen plenty of bumperstickers and posters featuring it. What do you think? What words/ phrases are over used?

Review: Orly nailpolish

Purple: Fowl Play
Pink: Oh Cabana Boy
cost- around $8.00
Gorgeous colors, bold statement! Bright pink and glitter purple are two fantastic colors by themselves; however, mix it up and use both or add any other Orly polish color. I really like this brand of nailpolish because they come in beautiful colors with an inexpensive price tag. I love to use this brand on my toe nails because it seems to last forever. Sometimes the color has lasted two full weeks without any chips, and I don't usually use a top coat.
Here's a tip: Paint your nails with a bright color (maybe a neon green) then use a neutral color as an accent (such as a light gray) to do an updated french tip.

Review: L'oreal Paris Studio Lasting Curls, Curl Scrunching Gel

Prices online: $2.99-$9.99
A decent curl sculpting product, L'oreal Paris Studio Curl Sculpting Gel gives hair a slight crunchy texture. This particular product doesn't quite work well for me in the intended use. However, if I slightly cover a strand of hair with the product and curl with a scrunching method, the results are great. Overall, I think this product is fine, but it could use some tweaks.
The new version of L'oreal Studio is now on the market, so I might try that.
Have you tried the new line, and if so what do you think?

Break time

I decided, that even though I just started this blog, I am going to take a break. I will probably check back occasionally and I will check my email. If I notice that there is a demand I will continue with my blog. I also changed my profile picture, so if you are confused about my profile pic post, that is why.

This is only temporary, I will be back, but only if there is a demand.
Have a great day!

Outfit of the day!

Dark green jacket: Charlotte Russe
Bright orange floral tank:Aeropostale
Blue denim shorts: Old Navy
You well look so hot in this outfit, but luckily the jacket itself isn't heavy so you won't feel too hot. This outfit is perfect for summer, the bright floral pattern from the tank makes a really pretty statement. Another great aspect, the shorts of course! They are so cute and they have a certain playful feel. All together this outfit is perfect for a day out with your girls or even on a date.
Here's a tip: add jewelry to further enhance the mood and make it more individual.

Review: Wet n Wild megalast retractable eyeliner

Wet n Wild megalast retractable eyeliner in blackest black 690A
I really like this eyeliner. It works well, and I like how it comes with a smudger. My favorite aspect of the eyeliner is the fact that it is retractable. I don't really like pencil eyeliners because I think they are such a pain to sharpen. This eyeliner costs only $1.99, which is really inexpensive for the quality. Overall, this eyeliner works really well for me and I will continue to rebuy it.

New Series

Hello world, how is everyone doing on this lovely day? So, to get started I am adding two new series to ny brand new blog. The first series consists of reviews of products I have tried. The second series is about fashion. I will go through my closet for each post and pull out an entire outfit. (Just a reminder that since these are my clothes, they may not still be in the stores I bought them from; however, I am sure you can find similar items now.) I will post a picture of the outfit, then I will continue to explain why I choose that particular outfit.
